Tayna Kip Kaiser was born as a Gemini prototype, on June 8, 1945. He passed from this world on April 6, 2007, leaving behind his beloved wife Alisha, and three beautiful children, Shanti, Kendric, and Marno.
Tayna was a very spiritual man and began his quest for a sacramental life consciously in the early 70’s when he began to seek the healing of his wounded child, leading him to Spiritual Frontiers Fellowship and the Thomas Starr King School for the Ministry where he acquired a Masters of Divinity Degree with an emphasis in spiritual psychology on November 11, 1977. After reaching a spiritual plateau in his life, he asked God for a Master Teacher and through dreams and meditation was led to Ann Ree Colton and Jonathan Murro.
For seven years before he would find his Teachers, he was prepared on his journey through many trials and spiritual studies. The beauty of God was magnified in him through holy experiences, creatures, nature and his children. He was taught the sacredness of relationships, birth and the feminine principle, through midwifery of his first child. He would participate and train in the somatic therapies and began training to live in a sacred community, in harmony with the earth, body, mind and spirit. He confronted and survived the confrontation with his shadow self and the collective shadow of humanity.
Towards the end of his seminary days at Starr King and the initiatory process of Jesus words, "Love thy neighbor as thy self," his journey brought him to the mountains near Eureka, California where he saw a triple rainbow. This signified to him that the initiations of the horizontal bar of the cross had been fulfilled and that he would embark on a new chapter in his life. This took the form of moving to his father’s hometown in Denver, Colorado, as part of his work to heal his wounded child and the family.
In the early 1980's, he was inspired to read "Autobiography of a Yogi" by Paramhansa Yogananda and later had a spiritual experience with Swami Sri Yukteswar, Yogananda's guru, where he was guided to continue his work with Ann Ree Colton. On July 11, 1981, she gave him his Grace Name, Tayna, which means "gift from God."
Then in 1990, he had a dream of Lake Shrine and Yogananda's houseboat and shortly thereafter was taken to Lake Shrine by a friend. From then on, he often went there for inspiration and quiet renewal. Paramhansa Yogananda eventually led him to his wife Alisha who was a member of Self-Realization Fellowship. In 2003, he became a member of Self-Realization Fellowship.
Tayna was often used by the Holy Ghost as a catalyst in other’s lives. God especially used him in his work with the children in his role as a substitute teacher in the Glendale, Pasadena and Los Angeles Unified School Districts. It gave him great joy to work with the children and teach them the spiritual keys to mastering the challenges in their own lives. He spoke to them at their level with a true heart’s devotion and was very much loved at the thirty plus schools in which he taught.
Tayna beautifully expressed his spirituality through his poetry. His poetry book "Free-d-OM through Love" is a testament to his spiritual journey and walk with Our Lord over a thirty-three year period. His passing on Good Friday speaks to the close relationship he maintained with our Lord throughout his spiritual life.
